Depot Square Condos
A new construction 46-unit condominium is reviving this historic Beverly downtown location with retail spaces on the first floor and accessibility to the commuter rail. Secured underground parking is accommodated on two lower floors and is easily accessed via elevator and remote door opener. The architectural language of the building reflects the historic neighborhood. WSA provided architectural services and worked in close collaboration with the developer to assure an integrated process at the Depot Square Condominiums. The project contract was modified design/build, where the owner, architect, and contractor made decisions collaboratively on an accelerated schedule. Initially, the project faced severe construction challenges originating from a third-party designer, until WSA was asked to step in and provide innovative solutions. Working very closely with the construction team, we resolved the discrepancies, improved the overall design, and maintained an aggressive schedule despite the difficult situation the team faced.
